Non-woven fabric prodn - using composite fibres in layers with higher ratio of bonding fibres at surface

Using continuous or staple fibres, the fibre types are divided in to bonding and non-bonding gps., the bonding fibres having an adhesive component dispersed on the fibre surface. The bonding fibres comprise at least 50% by wt. of the final fabric, and the dispersion of these types in the outer cladding layer gives a ratio at least 20% higher than in the fabric main body. The purpose is to provide good fibre bonding, and give a non-woven fabric with good tear-resistance and a smooth character and handle.
