1331392 Feeding animals SCHMEING Gebr 23 June 1971 [24 June 1970 10 Feb 1971] 29424/71 Heading AIM [Also in Division B8] For delivering feedstuff into a feeding trough 2, a container 7 has a pusher 16 which is reciprocated across a base plate by a cable 19, the plate in combination with end walls 9, 10 providing discharge apertures 11, 12. A pipe 5 extending into the container 7 is connected to a main pipe 4 and is adjustable between the position shown in Fig. 3 and a position on the other side of the container 7, substantially above the path of the pusher 16. If the pipe 5 is maintained in the Fig. 3 position no feedstuff is engaged by the pusher but in the other extreme position there will be full discharge from the pipe in the path of the pusher and out of the apertures 11, 12. At intermediate points as indicated by a scale 21 on a panel 15, there will be corresponding rates of discharge. A number of stalls 1 are provided with the main pipe 4 and the cable 19 being common. In a modification, Fig. 4, the pipe 5 discharges into an inner compartment 25 of which the bottom opening is variable by a manually adjustable plate 26. To minimise "bridging" of feedstuff a plate 34 forming one wall of the compartment 25 is slidably mounted on a wall 13 of the container. Toward the ends of its reciprocating motion the pusher 16 engages projections 37 on the plate 34 which is thus given limited movement. A rod 19 operates the pusher.
