1332567 Grinding PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 17 May 1971 [20 May 1970] 15280/71 Heading B3D A device for sharpening scissors, knives and similar tools comprises a plurality of grinding wheels 5, 6 of different degrees of coarseness arranged side by side and rotatable about substantially parallel shafts, the plane end-faces of the wheels being used to sharpen the tool. The wheels are driven by gearing 2, 3, 4 from an electric motor 1 housed in a casing 7 which rotatably supports a guide member 8. The member has apertures 9, 10, 11 bounded by supporting surfaces 14, 12, 13, respectively, surfaces 12 and 13 being used during sharpening of knives, and surface 14 during sharpening of scissors. The member 8 is rotatable through 180 degrees so that either wheel 5 or wheel 6 is operative. The device may have at least two grinding wheels and the guide member may be in the form of a slide.
