1423084 Hinges PAUL HETTICH & CO 6 June 1974 [14 June 1973] 25135/74 Heading E2F A hinge comprises a spring biassed keeper 8 pivotally mounted in a housing 4 and a roller 17 on a hinge arm 5 which cooperates with the keeper 8 to provide a resistance to the initial opening of the hinge. The keeper may be biassed by a coil or leaf spring or a synthetic plastics block and may be pivoted on a spindle which is disposed at the base of the housing or adjacent the opening of the housing. Alternatively the pivot may consist of a flexible narrow portion in a plastics keeper.
