A tractor having steerable wheels at the front thereof and driven wheels at the rear thereof, a load carry ing platform, an hydraulic pump, a drive motor mounted towards the rear of the tractor and arranged to dnve the pump, a fluid motor associated with each driven wheel hydraulic lines connecting the pump and fluid motors and a steering mechanism extending to the front wheels from a position adjacent to the rear wheels whereby the weight of said drive motor and the weight of a drivel operating said steering mechanism are applied mainly tc the rear driven wheels.
