A plastic container for meals comprises an outer dish of expanded polystyrene lined with a polystyrene film resistant to the cutting action of a knife, possibly divided into compartments for meat, vegetables, etc., the whole being covered with an impermeable film bonded to the rim of the container by an adhesive which allows it to be stripped off when heated for serving and fastened beneath for ease of disposal.
