In the title electrical resistance thermomoeter, the resistance bridge circuit connects the thermistor with the meter and the variable resistance in the bridge circuit, operates through the indicator plate in order to adjust the meter to null reading. The thermometer is safer and faster than the usual glass thermometer, as it cannot break or cause Hg poisoning. Accurate, reliable temp. measurement is obtd. The detecting element of the probe can be made in disposable form, thus avoiding the need for sterilisation without transmitting infections. Pref. the wire ends are held in contact with the thermistor plate by using pressure applying devices which have a plastic top, esp. of an epoxy material, which is shrunk onto the plate and thread ends.
