The dyes are of formula: (in which R1 is H or halogen; R2 is opt. substd. alkyl, phenyl or amino; R3 is alkyl substd. with alkoxy, phenoxy, benzoyloxy, phenoxy carbonyloxy or alkoxy carbonyloxy gps. opt. substd. with halogen, OH or CN; R4 is opt. substd. alkyl; R5 is acyl, and R6 is hydrogen or opt. substd. alkyl or alkoxy. No SO3H gps. are present) and are made from corresp. 2-halogen dyes by reaction with a metal cyanide in an organic solvent. The dyes are suitable for dyeing or printing hydrophobic fibres, giving good general fastness, esp. to thermofixing, sublimation, pleating, ozone and flue gases.
