1448016 Filing papers C-E GRUNDELL 21 Sept 1973 [25 Sept 1972] 44428/73 Heading B6E A file for documents or the like comprises a sheet member 8 one edge of which is bent back upon itself and inserted into the opposing grooves of a "C"-shaped channel strip 1, documents or the like being clamped between the lower flange 5b of the strip 1 and the sheet member 8. The sheet member may be folded along a line 14 to form a back portion 15 inserted in the strip, and a front portion 16 which is clamped between the back portion and the strip, a flap 18 forming a pocket between the front and back portions. The front portion may be cut obliquely at 17 to facilitate access to the pocket and a flap 20 with a flexible binding tongue 21 may be provided for holding perforated documents. A cover may also be held in the channel strip which may be provided with suspension noses (24), Fig. 4 (not shown). The strip may be transparent so that index tabs are visible therethrough. Alternatively, signal flaps 23 are provided. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 5, (not shown), a base sheet (28) is provided with two channel strips (1), and registration strips (29) are held between these channel strips (1). In a further embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown) the sheet member and channel strip are combined with a file folder having a storage member (33) for punched cards, photography &c. and a unit (35) having pockets (39a), (39b), Fig. 7 (not shown).
