At the end zones further warp material is supplied, in the weft direction, for the warps to be interwoven and looped back, with alternate loops passing round a joining pin. This converts felt or mesh material into a continuous band for the paper-making industry, where the join will not mark the paper being made, and where the porosity is equal over the whole band area.
