The gentamycin C group and paromomycin (known aminoglycoside antibiotics) are produced simultaneously by cultivating Streptomyces longisporoflavus S-244 (morphological data given) under aerobic conditions in a nutrient medium contg. a complex protein, a carbohydrate and mineral salts, pref. at 22-40 degrees C, then ext. the mixt. of antibiotics from the culture and sepg. the gentamycin in C group and paromomycin from each other.
