Ambulance with the driver's cabin entirely separate from the patient's compartment has an air inlet germ filter for the latter and a suction fan. The air blown out passes through a disinfection zone, to which a combustion chamber is attached, prior to emerging outside. The combustion chamber can be operated independent of the sterilization of the contaminated respiratory air by being arranged as a concentric chamber which surrounds the exit channel of the disinfection zone.
