The films are produced using a mixt. of 99-90 wt. % polyethylene, with density 0.918-0.932 g/cm3 and melt flow index (MFI; 190 degrees C/2.16 kg/0.01-10 g/10 min., and 1-10% 2-6C olefin homo- or co-polymer (I) with x-ray crystallinity of over 50% at 25 degrees C. They are suitable for packaging sharp-edged articles, e.g. building materials and machine parts. (I) pref. is polyethylene with density 0.945-0.965, polypropylene or a mixt. of these.
