摘要
Water immiscible (esp. oily) liquids are immobilised by contact with a mineral material which is combined (before or during the contact) with an ionic wetting agent and/or a dispersion of a substance (pref. a plastic rubber) which is swellable in the liquid to be immobilised. The process is useful for rendering harmless oils, fuels, plasticisers, solvents or hydrophobic chemicals spilled on the ground (in which case the mineral can be the soil itself) or on water surfaces (pref. using a mineral heavier than water), and for separating oils from emulsions.
