Radio-active waste materials transportable container assembly - utilising standard hooped drums or similar containers

Transporatable container assembly partic. applicable to radio-active solid and fluid wastes enabling larger quantities to be carried and complying with the requirements for B-type radio-active containers. The outer vessel is of metal encased foam phenolic resin and is demountable about a centre horizontal clamped joint. The internal dimensions are compatible with the external dimensions of a standard 1200 litre hooped drum. Solid contaminated waste is transported in a standard drum within the outer vessel and fluid waste in a stainless steel vessel of similar size to a drum. The vessel being provided with valves and pipework to facilitate filling, venting and draining.
