Sulphenium - a new non-metal of the sulphurgroup occurring in diamond

A novel non-metallic element of the sulphur group is named, "sulphenium". It is present in diamond, together with carbon. Its presence is shown by reacting pure Fe with diamond, and treating the product with an acid, yielding a gaseous cpd. with properties similar to H2S, but giving a different colour with Na nitroprusside. It is used in abrasive cpds. It is antibiotic and anticancerous.
