A ground covering, for sporting activities, consists of two super-imposed intermediate layers, of which one is elastic and consists of a flexible and imputrescible layer of cellulose material, such as polystyrene foam, and the other, placed above the foam contains hard elements consisting of crushed materials or plug bonded together by an acrylic plasticizer, pref. 'Vincenyl 9.180' and forming an indeformable layer of constant thickness, adhering to the elastic cellular layer. Pref. the hard layer consists of half sand or crushed brick, and half pozzolana, cinders or similar products, pref. silico-aluminous pref. of 0.3 mm diam. and dispersed uniformly in the layer. The surface layer is normally sand or crushed brick. Used for making tennis courts, running tracks, basketball courts etc.
