Liquid crystal display component - with very high resolution fine elements of selective character or symbol

Narrow rectangular bar electrodes in a selectively excited pattern used in a numerical character display are deposited through a resin mask on the flat transparent wall plate of the display. This mask is of resin which is sensitive to electron bombardment and the track of an intensity modulated, scanning beam over that resin is dissolved away to leave slots in the mask, less than 1.5 mu wide. For this purpose the resin used is methyl polymethacrylate or polyvinylsiloxane. High definition small size characters are obtd.
