A glass/ground joint still assembly, for laboratory use; comprises 3 vertical interconnected tubes, the first of which may be branched to a stirrer socket in the reaction/distillation vessel. Coolers are inserted into the 2nd and 3rd tubes, for distillation; and the coolers maybe transferred from the 3rd to the 1st tube, to provide direct reflux. A syphon for light immiscible distillate is provided, in the second tube, from the bottom of which heavy distillate is recovered, or refluxed via a valve.
