Stabilized indicator compsns. for ketones in urine - comprising buffered test-papers treated with nitroferricyanide on anion exchange resin

Prepn. of indicators for ketones, esp. in human physiological fluids, comprising a carrier on which is an alkaline buffer and a source of nitroferricyanide ions, in which the carrier is first impregnated with a pH 10-12 buffer, dried and then treated with an anion exchange resin carrying nitroferricyanide ions, so that the chromogenic reagent, protected by the resin and sepd. from the buffer, is more stable to varying ambient conditions of humidity and heat. The stabilized indicator, especially in the form of test papers, is used for indicating the presence of ketones, e.g. acetone in urine.
