Animal food supplement, esp. for birds, comprises a synergistic combination of aminoacids, vitamins and tissue extracts, contains is not 40% of protein and has a Ca/8 ratio of 1.5/1w/w. Compsn. prevents liver disorders due to imbalance of plain seed, e.g. millet which has a Ca/P ratio of only 1/6w/w. Suitable components are micronised seaweed, skim-milk, lactic yeasts, and milled lucerne which has a high content of vitamin A and a Cu/P ratio of 8/1w/w compsn. is added to foodstuff at 1-5 tablespoon fulls per kg.
