Linen is washed with soap (e.g. bio-active), by being soaked in water for 1-72 hrs. (pref. 10-24 hrs) before applying the soap. After a period of maceration for 3-48 hrs (pref. 10-14 hrs) the linen is rinsed with fresh water. Pref the volume of fresh water used for rinsing in 1-8 times the volume of water used during the maceration stage. Deterioration of the linen is reduced.
