The main part of the unit forms the riser. This has a small return at the bottom and an L shaped fold at the top. This upper fold forms part of the nosing. Another piece of sheet metal is bent over the top of the upper part of the larger piece of metal. There is thereby created a ledge at the rear of the nosing on which is placed a strip of anti-slip material. The whole is then concreted, the anti-slip strip being supported only by the nosing of the riser. A pair of arms anchored in the concrete extend from beneath the ledge generally horizontally.
