The instrument employs a contact panel laid on the floor, so that the contact are actuated as the dancer takes dancing steps over the panel. The panel is connected to a central frequency generating unit, so that the various musical notes are keyed by actuation of the contacts, and the practicing dancer has a further hand-operated unit for varying the notes and the dance programme. The contacts may be embedded in panel layer of varying rigidity and may be associated with printed circuits.
