Warning device against milk boiling over - disc with U-shaped stem has loose sleeve which rattles when milk boils

A kitchen utensil designed to prevent milk from boiling over by emitting a warning noise to alert the cook. A disc with an inverted U-shaped stem fixed to it is placed in the bottom of the cooking vessel. A sleeve fits loosely over the stem. As boiling point approaches, the agitation set up causes the sleeve to move on the stem and a rattling noise is produced. The stem also acts as a handle when removing the utensil, before emptying the saucepan.
