Process for the preparation of new 3-substituted 1-oxo-isoindolines and 2,3-substituted 1-oxo-isoindolines having the formula (I) sho.vn in the accumpanying drawings, and of their salts with crganic and inorgan physiologically suitable acids: where X=H, Cl, O-alkyl, CH,, OH wherY=H, alkyl, ramified or not (C1-C6), arylalkyl, alkyl-cyclo-alky!, alkylheterocyclic and where R represents the group of the formula shown in Fig 1 of the accompanying drawings, with n=2-6 with R1{=H, alkyl ramified or not R2.-or different from R2 and equal alkyl ramified or not or b!onging to a heterocyclic ring z=o, s characterized by the fact that the 3-hydroxyphtalimidinc substituted or not is condensed with amines according to the formula (II) shown in the drawings, where R1, R2, R3, and Z have the above mentioned meanings, and by eventual alkylation of the products so obtained.
