Thermoluminescent dosimeter test instrument - effects automatic accept or reject cycle using photomultiplier detector

An instrument for the evaluation of luminescence dosimeters, especially thermoluminescence dosimeters, having a detector in the form of a hollow needle brought into a chamber with hot nitrogent whilest the light emitted during heating up is measured using a photomultiplier tube. The instrument has a pivoted drum carrying a piston which carries thee hollow needle under test, together with an ejector for needles which do not meet specification. An ellipsoidal mirror between the needle and the photomultiplier ensures that onl from the needle under test is accepted by the photomultiplier. The instrument operates an automatic testing cycle whiwhichincludes periodic calibration shecks of the photomultiplier.
