Component 1 may be any of a large number of specified derivatives of 1, 3-indandione or coumarin, a 2-azacycloalkyl-methylsubstituted benzhydrylketone or carbinol, or a rare earth metal salt (e.g. of neodymium or cerium). Component 2 may be an arylacetic acid, an -aryl--methylacetic acid, an arylpropionic acid, an heteroarylacetic acid, an -heteroaryl--methylacetic acid, an heteroaryl propionic acid or a salt of any said acid or an acidic enol compound containing a conjugated system. The compositions may be formed into baits containing foodstuffs, decoy substances, dyes and inert adjuvants.
