1406354 Separating ion-exchange resins ECODYNE CORP 30 Jan 1973 [1 March 1972] 4610/73 Heading B1J In a method for the separation of cationexchange resin from anion-exchange resin in a separation zone, a liquid having a density intermediate between the densities of the cation-exchange and anion-exchange resins is delivered to the resins in an amount sufficient to permit the anion-exchange resin to float and the cation-exchange reisin to sink, the said liquid being delivered continuously to the resins and withdrawn intermittently from a lower portion of the zone. The liquid may be an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide which simultaneously regenerates the anion-exchange resin. Sodium sulphate solution or an organic liquid may also be used.
