Azo-dispersion dye in beta-modification and prodn. - by prepn. and conditioning at relatively low temp., for continuous dyeing

New beta-modification of the azo dispersion dye of the formula:- is produced by heating the dye to a temp. is not 80, pref. is not 65 degrees C during mfr. and conditioning. The dye can be prepd. by nucleophilic exchange of a Cl or Br atom with the SO2Me gp. Only the beta-modification meets the modern requirements for continuous dyeing. Its fastness properties are at least equal to those of comparable commercial prods. and greatly superior in several respects. In the 'Thermosol' (RTM) process, the fixed yield is only slightly dependent on the dyeing and fixing conditions.
