Cooler for flue gases of refuse incinerator - has ceramic wall which protects cooling pipes against overheating effects and guides the flue gases

The cooling system has two series connected cooling pipe systems, and the first pipe system is protected by a ceramic wall against overheating, scaling and corrosion. The wall (8) has passages for the flue gases, each associated with a cooling pipe (9) of the first cooling pipe system. Both systems are held in a housing which has an inlet (3a) for cooling air and an outlet (3c) for removing heated cooling air into the housing part (3) which is connected to the chimney stack. The pipes of the second cooling pipe system (11) are connected to those of the first pipe system and spray nozzles (6, 7) are provided for spraying cooling water into the flue gases which leave the second cooling pipe system.
