Luminous footprint or foot tread producer for examination purposes consists of a glass plate with a light source to one side. Slightly above the plate and parallel to this is a removable, translucent and self-adhering cloth (7) stretched out with its sticky side facing the plate (1). Preferably the device is enclosed in a housing which has s hole in the lid to expose the cloth. The underneath side of the plate should be mirror surfaced, or else a metal foil should be placed beneath for the same purpose. The adhesive on the cloth should be acryl based.
