The coupling has two prong-like components, at right angles to each other, joined by four balls moving along grooves in the facing surfaces of the prongs. There is a central ball in the middle of the coupling and this is enclosed at an angle of more than 180 deg. by cylindrical recesses in guides in the two components, thus preventing the components from moving apart. Each recess has a supplementary recess adjoining its inner end at right angles, to allow the passage of one of the outer edges of the other guide, when the component is curved at its maximum angle.
