Determination of Ochsle degree of basket of grapes - tube pushed from above into mass of grapes

The tube is withdrawn again after reaching its extreme position near the ground, whereupon it is sealed at the bottom end. The sample taken in the tube is compressed and the must issuing from it is conveyed to an Ochsle measuring instrument. The tube is closed at the top and has over it on the same axis a lifting cylinder with a piston which is loaded by a pressure medium and has a controllable movement. The piston rod led tightly through the bottom of the cylinder engages in the tube and carries another piston at the lower end. After the sample is pushed out of the tube, the tube is cleaned by a steam jet.
