The modified nail consists of two tubes. The inner tube has its end split into two or more pieces, which are rounded and flattened to a cutting edge, and which then of themselves assume the required sprayed from without further working. In use, the inner tube is pushed through the outer tube towards a plastic end plug which is grooved to direct the split ends of the inner tube through slots in the outer tube, so that they form claws. A plastics guide component fitting over a threaded spindle, contacts the splayed claws.
