Suitably shaped reinforcement inserts (e.g. glass fibres) and a flowable or castable, hardenable plastics e.g foamable polyurethane, are introduced into a mould, shaped and hardened, and foamed inside a mould cavity which receives the reinforcement inserts and corresponds with the cup shape of the intended moulding, between components of the mould which is constructed as a split mould. The moulding cpd. thereby progressively fills the mould cavity and so completely embeds the reinforcements. Mouldings with relative complex configuration and thin walls may be produced.
