Spring actuated railway rolling stock brake - has wear taken up by spring loaded nut, to be self adjusting

The brake acts on the wheel rim and has a pair of shoes pivoted at their lower ends. The other end of one of the brake shoes is connected by a pivoting bolt to the outside of a cylinder and the piston to the end of the other brake shoe. The piston is spring loaded against the cylinder so that both shoes are pulled against the wheel. An extension to the piston rod has a multi-start coarse thread at its end and a spring loaded nut. When pressure is applied to the cylinder the brake is released. When the brake is re-applied, any lining wear is taken up by the travel of the nut.
