Load dependent air bellows suspension - has quick action bypass regulator valve and common axle levelling valve

The regulator valve and the bypass valve comprise a single unit fitted to the vehicle super-structure between the suspension air tank and the air bellows main feed pipe. The purpose of the bypass is to allow a rapid filling and emptying of the bellows in the case where the load is suddenly applied or discharged so that the vehicle may be driven away immediately without causing damage to the suspension. The regulator valve allows air to pass from the tank to the bellows until a preset distance between chassis and axle is reached is determined by a regulator bar between axle and valve. Should the preset distance be exceeded, the bypass which has a larger flow cross section, is opened to permit a rapid filling or emptying of hte bellows.
