The portal frame for supporting shuttering plates travels along the canal and it can also move outwards or simultaneously outwards and upwards. The portal frame has supporting wheels which travel in channel profiles. The portal frame has slots for accommodating the bolts for fixing shuttering supports. A transverse support member with the turnbuckle is used for relasing the shuttering which is completely removed from the concrete lined canal by lifting upwards. Use of steel plates increases the life of the shuttering arrangement and it can be reused. The shuttering is released from the concrete simply by rotating the turnbuckle by using relatively low force.
