Continuous veneer strip manufacture - with sheets glued together at overlapping tapered ends and cut lengthways

The continuous strip, used in furniture manufacture and for similar purposes, is made up from individual plywood sheets each 2-4 m. long and 20-60 cm. wide. The ends are tapered in thickness so that the sheets can be glued together with fitting overlapping ends, and the resultant strip is then cut into narrower strips of the desired width. Ends are pref. cut to pointed wedge shaped, and glued on the unworked sides. The process is simplified, with exactly fitting graining at joints made practicable, and an increased gluing surface is provided.
