Coloured light mixing system - achieves lighting effects for television and theatre, by programmed mixing of 3 primary colours

A wide range of lighting effects is achieved by combining the three primary colours of blue, red and green. The desired lighting effect is determined and a programme is set-up on a plug-board matrix on the control unit. The amplitudes of the three primary colours are controlled by varying the supply voltage to a number of oscillator circuits. A number of different oscillator frequencies may be preset on manually variable potentiometers on the control console. These different frequencis are then selected by programming the matrix input. In addition the switch-on and switch-off periods of the oscillators may be adjusted to provide a variable mark-space ratio without changing the particular frequency.
