Superplastics alloy sheets for sound-reducing machine capsules - used as laminated sandwich with thermoplastics or lead interlayer

Metal sheets of superplastic alloys are used for mfr. of sound-reducing capsules for machines. Pref. the alloys are laminated with a thermoplastics, as a sandwich with plastics intermediate layer, or laminated with Pb as intermediate layer. The sheets may be of a Zn-Al alloy of the ZnA122 type, the superposed layers are deformed at suitable temps. and pressures, in common, and are thus simultaneously adhered to each other. The sheets may also be adhered to each other first, and then deformed. Complex shaped encapsulations with satisfactory stability and good noise-reduction are mfrd.
