Anti-vibration mounting for absorbing horizontal vibrations - is fixed between foundations and base of piece of equipment

This vibration damper is designed to absorb horizontal vibrations such as may occur in earth-quake prone regions on the footings of high tension gear. One part of the damper which is cylindrical in shape is fixed to the foundations. The other part of the damper which is attached to the base of the equipment consists of a bolt held between the housing faces of the damper that is fixed to the foundations. The bolt is held so that its end face is in contact with the housing wall. This bolt is capable of transverse movement across the housing base and the friction between bolt face and housing base oppose the transverse movement of the bolt. The bolt also pierces the rubber disc which is fixed to the inside of the cylindrical housing.
