Driving prefabricated pile by shaking - using metal pile hood with apertures in cover plate for rods projecting up from pile

Prefabricated concrete pile is driven by shaking; a metal pile head hood with a cover plate to be set on the pile head, with an attached connector for the shaker, is connected to the pile during shaking. The pile has connection rods projecting upward from its head. Corresponding passage openings are in the cover plate of the hood. There is sufficient space in the connector fitted above the cover plate for the shaker(s) to receive the upstanding rods. The method avoids the time consuming need to remove the pile head to expose the reinforcement rods.
