Throttle valve with a valve seat body, in the coaxial extension of which a socket is located, and which had radial through-flow channels in several planes. For the control of the through-flow channels and the valve seat opening, a piston-shaped cut-off component capable of a stroke type movement is adjustably fitted in the socket. In the area between the valve seat and the subsequent radial through-flow channels in the socket inner wall and/or in the circumference surface of the cut-off component one or several recesses are provided, and which form turbulence chambers. These turbulence chambers take the form of circular ring grooves in the socket and the cut-off component.
