Sealing star for document sealing in press by wafer - with wafer mass fastened to underside of star

The mass of the wafer is fastened to the underside of the sealing star, thus enabling the star and wafer to be marketed as a single piece. The star and wafer are joined together before the sealing operation and can be used as a single piece instead of two separate ones when placed under the sealing press. There is no risk of the wafer crumbling as it is stuck fast to the sealing star and has much greater strength as a result. The wafer can be fastened to the star by means of a layer of adhesive between star and wafer. It is advantageous if the layer of adhesive is impervious to water.
