Air compressor is driven directly ban an exhaust turbine and is connected to the engine air intake, via an air cooler. The chamber immediately in front of the air cooler is connected to the upper chamber of a pressure box and the chamber immediately behind the air cooler is connected to a lower chamber. The two chambers are separated by a diaphragm to which is fixed a pull rod, able to act directly or indirectly upon the fuel pump regulator. The pressure in the first chamber corresponds to the super charging pressure which builds up in front of the air cooler. The chamber behind the air cooler contains less air and less pressure as a result of the cooling which causes the diaphragm to move corresponding to the pressure difference.
