Finishing of plywood or laminated chipboard sheets with rounded off edges is carried out by applying to both sides of the sheet plastics foils or veneers rounding off an edge of the sheet by milling the edge inclusive of an overlapping portion of the foil or veneer and attaching the other overlapping portion to the rounded off edge using an adhesive bonding agent. Sheets can be finished in a continuous process and two components joined by a veneer or foil can be attached to one another at right angles.
