Street roller with vibration unit(s) has a mass which can be set in oscillation by a conventional pulse control appts. to generate vibratory forces in the vibratory roller. Preferably the stresses are limited, and the hydraulic losses are reduced, by using two reservoirs and three non-return valves. The piston is held by spring(s) in the cylinder, pref. in the middle position. More partic., directed forces are produced at a low cost. The roller is mounted by bearings on the shaft, in which the control appts. is mounted. The hydraulic fluid is pulse fed via ducts.
