Resilient mounting for assembly tolerance - has weak part on switch component giving limited resistance over tolerance range

Esp. for a component to be assembled between upper and lower plates, e.g. dial switch for telephone set. The mounting comprises a rubber body of circular cross-section and having end portions with blind axial holes for receiving mounting pins of the component and the lower plate respectively. The body has a medial portion of larger diameter than the end portions, which medial portion is hollow and is provided around the interior with an annular notch effecting a locally weakened annulus. The width of the notch is so chosen that its sides do not close not withstanding variations within the tolerance in the distance between the upper and lower plates.
